There's a new a motion controller called PlayStation Move, developed by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) (the maker of PlayStation) to compete with other motion controlled game console (Nintendo Wii and Microsoft's planned Project Natal). The motion was captured with a camera, called PlayStation Eye. It captures the colored and illuminated bulb as players hand coordination. There's also inertial sensors to detect the wand's motion.
